Q~ What is included in my session?
A~ All Boudoir sessions include the full experience in the package chosen. This includes consultation, wardrobe design, the photoshoot, hair and makeup, professional retouching of images and the reveal session. All other digital and printed products may be purchased at the Reveal Session.
Q~ Who will be there during my shoot?
A~ It will only be you and me. After hair and makeup, the artists will leave and we will begin our shoot.
Q~ Can my significant other come?
A~I say this with love- but NO. First, I do not shoot couples in Boudoir Sessions. Second, I have found that clients are much more nervous when loved ones are around. I am happy to accommodate you bringing a close friend, or even doing back-to-back sessions. We can discuss this further if you are interested.
Q~ How do you edit images? Will you fix my areas that I consider a flaw?
A~ We will discuss what your favorite and not-so-favorite areas are before your session. This allows me to be able to pose correctly, always showing off your best traits. I am always happy to photoshop as little or as much as you desire.
Q~Ok, I'm ready to book! What next?
A~ YAY!! This will be such an amazing thing that YOU are doing for YOU! Contact me about what dates and times will work for you. I will send you a contract and then we will move forward discussing wardrobes, tips, pricing and all the little details that will make your session the best decision you make.
Q~ Where do you shoot Boudoir Sessions?
A~ Sessions take place in my studio located in Riverside, Jacksonville, Florida. I'm always happy to discuss other options like boutique hotels, in-home sessions or B&B's that may offer a certain style to best suit your vision.
Q~Do you provide the wardrobe?
A~ I do not provide wardrobe for Boudoir Sessions. I am happy to consult and guide you to what will best work for your session. Once your photoshoot is confirmed, I will send a wardrobe guide with helpful links.
Q~ Will my photographs be kept safe & private?
A~Yes, I take privately very seriously. After your session, I upload photos to my editing programs and then delete images from my SD card. I do all my editing in a private location, on my personal computer that is password protected. After your reveal session, I move all photographs to a secure external hard drive where they will stay, archived. I keep them archived in the event there is ever a time that your gallery should need to be resurrected.
Q~ Will you share my photos on social media?
A~No, I will not share anything unless it is approved by you. When we do your Reveal Session, you may select images that can be shared, and sign a social media release.
Q~ What is a Reveal Session?
A~ After your photoshoot, we will select a date for you to come in and view your images. That is also when you may decide what, if anything, you want to purchase. You only purchase what you love!
for one individual
After booking your Boudoir Experience with Emerald Photography, we will schedule a consultation (via phone, email, Skype or a coffee date) to discuss the details of your session. We will go over your prep guides and decide what wardrobe style works best for you. I'll send reminders and follow up with you right up to your shoot date. Once you arrive in the studio for your special day, we will sort through your wardrobe and accessories and then begin styling. Emerald uses a professional hair and makeup artist that is licensed with the state of Florida. This will include makeup application with lashes and dry hair styling. The photoshoot will last approximately 1.5-2 hours. After your Boudoir Experience, Stacey will hand select your best images. Two weeks after your shoot, once the images have been professionally retouched, we will review them together at your Portrait Reveal & Order Session. Once you've narrowed down your favorite images per your choice package, Stacey will create and order your products. Emerald only works with the finest labs and companies from all over the world. Products typically take approximately three weeks to be delivered to the studio.
Most Emerald Boudoir clients decide to purchase a package at the the time of booking. Packages offer products at a discounted price and take the guesswork out of what beautiful keepsakes you will want to invest in. A la carte items are available and can be viewed at the Ordering Session. The average client spends between $1900-$2600. Contact Stacey to discuss the details of booking your Boudoir Experience.
I want to deliver to you the most powerful images of yourself.
Are there some styles that you love?
Let's discuss!
Wardrobe is not as important as everyone may think. I will make you look amazing in any outfit or accessory you bring!
Don't stress about it. Here are some tips to help calm your nerves and help you decide what to bring!
*LINGERIE IS NOT A MUST! Especially complete lingerie sets. Don't be afraid to get creative! For a boudoir style shoot, a garter belt and thigh high fishnets would go great with a cropped sweater or graphic tee. A gorgeous bra can be paired with a long flowing skirt. Your favorite tank top can be paired with no pants. A SHEET can be used for everything. Your 20 year old favorite t-shirt paired with cheeky bottoms will get the job done just perfectly. This is about YOU and your authentic personality, not about being someone you aren’t.
For beauty or portraits, structured and/or statement pieces work amazing. Your favorite blazer or jacket, a cocktail dress with an interesting neckline, or just a bodysuit and jeans….I want you to look and feel like yourself.
When in doubt, just bring in some of your favorite wardrobe items and let me style them for you.
*Structured pieces and solids look great on camera as well as items with texture, and those that are form fitting to show your figure.
*THINKING ABOUT THIGH-HIGHS, buy them 1-2 sizes TOO BIG according to the size chart on the back. Purchasing them in your typical size so they supposedly "fit" or going according to the package size chart will likely result in the stockings giving a bit of thigh "muffin top". If they are a little big we can get them to stay up for each pose, or you can wear a garter belt to keep them from slipping. But if they are too small, that will be a harder fix.
*IF YOU HAVE LARGE BREASTS or maybe...."mom boobs" (I'm allowed to say this because I am totally rocking them myself), SUPPORT, SUPPORT, SUPPORT! Do not buy lingerie that does not offer any underwire unless you have small and perky boobs. There is also no need for push-up bras, either.
*IF YOU WANT LINGERIE, I highly recommend going to a local lingerie boutique to have yourself properly fitted. There are recommendations in this guide.
*Tiny busy patterns as well as neon colors are often harsh on-camera and a bit unflattering, so let's try to avoid them.
It can happen. You get excited and book the shoot, then the day before or the day of, your nerves start to take over. Nervousness and anxiety can make you want to cancel, reschedule or even make up an excuse to not follow through with your session. Let me help you. Let's talk about why you may be feeling these emotions and let's face them head on!
*BE SURE TO HAVE SEVERAL OUTFITS PICKED OUT and we can go through them together before your shoot to determine what will photography best. We will have time for 1 outfit (nude counts as an outfit, if you are wondering) for every 30 minutes you are scheduled.
*A VARIETY OF PIECES- Try to incorporate a variety of pieces into your wardrobe selections. Having five different bra and panty sets won't allow for a whole lot of variety in your photos. Rather, have something formal, something casual, something super textured and fun, something more modest, to something black and sleek.
*SOME EXTRAS- Emerald can work with pretty scarves, sheets, white button down shirts. My favorite look is a super amazing tighter-fitting top and no bottoms (don't worry, lady bits are covered!)
*YOUR SELECTIONS- Make sure your wardrobe selections aren't wrinkled, adn cut off all the tags of your sheer items before arriving.
*PROPS- I'm open to a costume prop or staple item that you truly love, but I ask no sports jerseys, military apparel or other "themey" outfits. This is just not the style of photography that I specialize in.
